Bristol-based producer Kursa is well known for his broad musical style and inventive sound design. He never fails to push the envelope of bass design, constantly reinventing his sound and embracing the evolving nature of electronic music. He’s played parties and festivals of all shapes and sizes in the UK, Europe and Canada. It’s safe to say he knows how to build a party and tear it right down.
Having been involved in Wonk#ay Records since 2011 featuring on many of their compilations, he’s since released on an impressive array of labels whilst keeping his individuality intact. His live scratch project with Lone Drum and Osmetic (K.L.O.) has taken his music to a whole new audience and given him the freedom to aggressively focus on his own vision. Having now met the SLUG WIFE team, he’s found a home for his sound.
Aside from the highest production standards to be found anywhere in underground electronica, it is the depth and breadth of Kursa’s output that is truly outstanding. Subscribers of his Kurs’d Earth membership on Bandcamp are treated to well over 160 releases, and that’s albums and EP’s, not individual tracks. Among them you’ll find his take on every genre and groove going, all dripping in his unique sound design and understanding that music is required both to be listened to and to be moved by, mentaly and physically!
In 2018, Kursa and his Slugwife counterparts broke the American bass market, with a huge run of festival shows and consistently rammed club nights. There are already multiple tours booked for his return to the States in 2019.
