Dr. Bastardo may not hold a medical degree, but in the field of Techno Science he is regarded as a leading authority. Formerly one of Tijuana’s more ambitious hardcore luchadors, a certain barbed-wire incident saw him retire from the ring and devote himself fully to the advancement of electronic experimentation. The moniker El Bastardo gave way to Dr. Bastardo — a name now synonymous with rigorous yet unpredictable sonic research.
His work spans a wide spectrum of techno exploration, but he is most renowned for sub-atomic rhythmic experiments, widely recognised as breakcore. Recent studies have explored conservation and biodiversity within jungle-influenced structures, further broadening the scope of his sonic laboratories. Notable “publications” include:
- A Brief History of Time-stretching
- Breaking the Core: Further Applications of the LHC
- Amen Break pH 10: The Theoretical Possibility of Alkaline Techno
Dr. Bastardo’s early experiments reached the public in 2006 with the 2×12 release When Dub Plates Attack on Peace Off. Since then, he has contributed to labels including Ad Noiseam, Proboscus, Rancorous, Our Fucking Jungle and, most recently, Ninja Columbo.
Known for practical demonstrations as much as recorded experiments, Dr. Bastardo brings a theatrical precision to live performances across the UK and Europe — the only known practitioner able to blend high-energy breakcore with a fully enacted pseudo-scientific lecture.
For those seeking either academic insight or a full-scale auditory intervention, Dr. Bastardo remains available for lectures, seminars — or simply to SMASH YOUR PARTY.
