THE TEKNOIST

THE TEKNOIST PROFILE PHOTO

A hurricane, a trainwreck, a tank: Miike Teknoist’s approach to underground hardcore is the sonic equivalent of a bar fight. For over two decades, he has confronted music head-on, gathering influences into a whirlwind of breaks, beats, and bass. Emerging with DJ sets shaped by veterans like Hellfish and The DJ Producer, he quickly transitioned from decks to studio, producing powerful, meticulously shattered tracks that found homes on high-profile labels such as Planet Mu and Deathchant, even in his earliest years.

From Brazil to Russia, Manchester to Berlin, The Teknoist has left his mark across the globe. Over countless releases — from Peace Off, Nekrolog1K, Deathchant, Rebelscum, and beyond — he refined his style: breakcore that is precise yet monstrous, hardcore that is melodic yet punishing, and compositions that deliver harmonic violence with surgical timing.

His first full-length album, 2008’s Ad Noiseam release …Like a Hurricane Made of Zombies, confirmed his status as a scene heavyweight. Subsequent landmark releases include Trainwreck Magnetism (Ad Noiseam, 2011), featuring collaborations with µ-ziq, Hecq, and Drumcorps, and Enduser Shares Needles with The Teknoist (Ad Noiseam, 2012). In 2014, Tank Alligator (Industrial Strength Records) cemented his reputation for combining punishing beats with an uncompromising, ever-changing attitude.

When not producing or performing, he runs the Ninja Columbo label and its sub-labels Our Fucking Jungle, Samurai Brylkreem, and Fire Hammer, supporting his own material alongside releases from Dolphin, Scheme Boy, and other scene innovators.

“There is a lot to discover in The Teknoist: hard beats, sudden breaks, crisp samples, a huge bass and most of all, an unequalled amount of energy. ‘A big fuck-off rave’ is how this man’s music has been described, and it might just be the shortest, most on-point way to introduce The Teknoist. We’re all invited.”
