Seppa has been crafting forward-thinking bass music for well over a decade, continually refining his ability to move a dancefloor while keeping it guessing. After early releases under the alias Duskky on various smaller labels, it was Wonk#ay Records — which he now co-runs with Bunkle and Aytch — that became central to his evolution. Years of playing parties both intimate and large-scale sharpened his instinct for groove, weight and momentum, shaping the rhythmic precision that defines his sound today.
In 2015 he adopted the Seppa moniker, launching the project with Trojan/Coriolis on AutomAte Recordings in 2016, followed by the Homunculus and Displaced EPs. These releases established his signature balance of intricate sound design, elastic low-end and dancefloor functionality.
His connection with the Slug Wife collective marked a prolific period, including the 2018 full-length album More, the jazz-infused hip hop collaboration Bright Spots with Chalky, and the 2019 Stress EP, alongside extensive touring across the USA. In 2020 he delivered his second solo album Split and the follow-up collaboration with Chalky, Strange Changes.
Since then, Seppa has continued to expand his catalogue with releases including the Meliora EP (2021) and the Extended Play EP (2025). His work remains rooted in complex, layered sound design and slower, hip-hop‑tempo grooves, offering music that is rich, intricate and deeply immersive. Each release further explores texture, rhythm and space, reinforcing his reputation as a producer who crafts weighty, detailed compositions that command attention both in the studio and on the floor.
Alongside his creative output, Seppa is a respected mix and mastering engineer and educator. His Producertech course, Advanced Bass Music Production Techniques 2, was nominated for MusicTech Magazine’s ‘Gear of the Year 2020’ Best Accessory award, reinforcing his standing not only as a producer but as a technician and mentor within the wider bass music community.
