We’ve got two new Anorak releases to catch you up on, family! Circle Square dropped on Batz Collective in September, followed by Convolve on Defunkt at the start of October. Two releases, two different approaches to breakbeat fuckery.
First up, Circle Square landed on Batz Collective on 4th September, delivering four tracks of acid-coated drum & bass, pristine edits and heartfelt themes. It’s that sweet spot where splintered breakbeats and acidic pressure create something real and emotive, rather than just throwing a load of distorted breaks at the wall and hoping for the best.
There’s an added reason to get involved, too: all proceeds from the release are being donated to Greenpeace. Proper music for a proper cause.

Next came Convolve, released on Defunkt on 1st October, a seven-track excursion into tension, release and the glorious art of making a groove out of something that probably shouldn’t be working in the first place.
Fractured rhythms, emotive melodies and acidic intensity collide across razor-sharp breakbeat architecture, shifting between chaos and control without losing sight of the human element buried beneath all that machinery.
Remixes from Safoh and Eraserhead take things in two very different directions, from warped, psychedelic terrain to deep sub-bass pressure.

Two releases, two different angles on the same obsession: breakbeats with teeth and acid with purpose!
Get stuck in, show the releases some love, and support the artists and labels who are keeping the underground moving.
